The Beautiful Work Challenge

On Birth

The Beautiful Work Challenge addresses the work we do from law to medicine, engineering to agriculture, policing to politicking. How did we get here? What’s the endeavor’s essence? Is transformation worthwhile? TBWC are visionary voices who combine to assess their vocations. The premier is on birth.

The Essence tracks pre-conception to attachment, bonding & post-partum with Debra Pascali-Bonaro (Orgasmic Birth), Phyllis Klaus (The Doula Book), Ina May Gaskin (Birth Matters), Thomas Verny (The Secret Life of the Unborn Child) and David Chamberlain (Babies Remember Birth).

The Currency is the roots of disempowerment, media, and inquisition presented by Robbie Davis-Floyd (Birth as an American Rite of Passage), Penny Simkin (Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the Newborn), Betty-Ann Daviss (Birth Models That Work) and Michael Klein (Dissident Doctor).

The Transformational is policy, practice, crisis, and education through the experience of Ibu Robin Lim (Bumi Sehat), Angie Truesdale (Centering Health Care), Vicki Penwell (Mercy in Action), Karen Guilliland (New Zealand College of Midwives) and Ashley Hill (Birthmark Doula Collective).
